The Real Deal

The Real Deal

A couple of months ago I got the idea to pick up an old hobby of mine, playing guitar. It's been some 15 years since played it the last time and it's over 30 years since I bought my first electric guitar. But my old home built 50 watt amp (built both the amp and the speaker cabinet) was long gone, so I thought this would be the right time to buy a "real" one.

Another hobby of mine is photography. So I got the idea to shoot a cool picture of my new bought MG30DFX.

The MG30DFX is a nice amp for practice and so on. But I'm already looking at another one. The AVTX series seems awesome. And if I can keep my guitar playing alive and maybe even get some guys together and play as a band again, I will probably get me a AVT150HX with one or two speaker cabinets.

A big thanks to Jim and the whole Marshall team. You've been writing history for such a long time. You guys rock.

The Sound of Rock

The Sound of Rock

Dear Jim,
we are Francesco and Sergio.
As you can see in these pics, we are absolutely crazy for vintage
Marshall amps!!!
Plexi and Jcm800 are the very rock machines, and the feeling of four
cabs screaming drives us mad!!!

Thank you for creating the sound of rock. We will bring your tone all
over the world...

Little Beasties

Little Beasties

Hi, here is my 2 trusty marshalls with the SG and Les Paul.
I have to say that the tone you get from these little beasties is incredible i just cant get enough of that tight low end cruch that i have only heard from marshalls.

Well Done for making the best amps on earth!

An Animal Caged

An Animal Caged

I just began to play in bands at 1995 so when I used a Marshall for first time it was the VS 8100 with a 4x12 1960A cabinet and I liked it.....

Some time after I used other brands and there's no traditional rock sound like Marshall, so I decided to buy my first Marshall and it was a VS 8100 with a 4x12 1960B cabinet.

Suddenly touring trough my country (Venezuela) a great friend of mine let me use his JCM 900 full stack and I realized that tubes on the road KICK ASS harder. I felt the air was pushing me away

Every time I cranked my guitar with this ANIMAL CAGED in an amplifier. This experience made me buy a JCM 800 MKII 1986 model, second hand stuff and it really made think like if WYLDE was near

because it sounds really like his gear (I love his sound), there was only left an MXR DISTORTION pedal and that was all. My last buy was the MG100HDFX and a MG412B cabinet, why?.... I really love that sound, I know there's no tubes included but sounds really good, lighter than a JCM and I had no need to give all the volume to sound hard, because thats the quality that only MARSHALL can give!!!!

There's nothing better than "a beutifull family, a good beer, an Ibanez and all the MARSHALLS you can have to be happy!!!"

.... Marshall rules!!!!

Remember Stonehenge

Remember Stonehenge

Remember in "This is Spinal Tap" when somebody goofed and the Stonehenge Replica was WAY too small.
Compared to a half stack, that's what my Studio 15 reminds me of.
But it's been big enough (and loud enough) to play in front of thousands of people.
But now it's 20 years old and I've got my eye on the new 18 watt combo.
That's 3 watts more!

Fine Intentions

Fine Intentions

Hi there

Here's my pride and joy, a DSL 401. Unfortunately only been able to gig her the once (hopefully many more times to come) but when I did she sang. One day I intend to get a DSL100 Head, but until then, this baby holds up more than just fine

See ya

Marshalls Go To 10 For A Reason!

Marshalls Go To 10 For A Reason!

Mr. Marshall,

My dad has been a Marshall user since the beginning, and so have I. Here are some pictures of our amps.

First is a picture of my stuff. a JCM2000 ontop of an MF280A cab. After using those Vintage 30's, I don't trust anything else! I've also got a straight MF280B to go with it, which my guitarist uses and also swears by!
Second is a picture of my dad's rig. These are actually two 1959 Super Lead Plexi reissue heads in a JCM800 chassis ontop of four home-made cabs, two housing a single JBL speaker, and two housing dummy speakers. He's never used anything else, and never will! Third is a closeup of all four heads. The JCM2000 is my baby. I traded another amp to my friend for it a few months back, and I'm glad I did! It's my voice both live and on recordings. Below it is a classic. A 1959 Mark II head from way back in the day. Not exactly sure when it was made, but it's been responsible for all my signature sounds in every band I've been in. Every time someone's come up to me and said "man, you sound incredible" I've always had that amp behind me. (On the front is a sticker made by my dad that puts it best: "Marshalls go up to 10 for a reason.") On the right (although they're not completely in the shot) are my dad's 1959 Plexi reissues disguised as JCM800's. Finally: a picture of all the Marshalls me, my dad, and my guitar player have. Everything in the shot is either mine or my dad's, except the 1960B cab in the bottom right, which is my guitarist's (that thing has been through hell and back!) The cab in the middle is being worked on, so three of the speakers are missing from it for the time being, but they were the other main staple of my live sound until I got my JCM2000.

I'll admit that over the years I've experimented with other amp makers to try to find "my sound," but realized that every great sound I've ever had, every tone that ever made me stand out from the other guys came from a Marshall. To wrap up a rather long email: thank you Jim for making the only amp that really matters!

Great At Any Volume

Great At Any Volume

I have always been a Marshall fan and in the 1970s I owned the U.S. sales sample for the first 100W solid state 2x12 combo. It was amusing jamming with some friends and seeing my amp in "Guitar Player" reviewed as soon to be available. Since it didn't have reverb, I had added a tube reverb from that other company to the effects loop which also gave very nice distortion effects when overdriven. After some time away from playing, I was using a classic tweed amp from that other company with a Ted Weber MASS box to let me run the clean channel at distortion levels. I had decided to give my girlfriend a nice DSL401, and after playing it, I decided to trade in my tweed amp for this TSL60. Sorry about the Hartke cab, but I really prefer the sharp attack and punch of 10 inch speakers. (hint, hint) I no longer need the MASS since this TSL60 sounds great at any volume.

Thanks,

Far From Home

Far From Home

Didn't get my amp all the way up there, but thought the Marshall T-shirt on top of Wannu Picchu (above Machu Picchu) in Peru, was worth something. It was a hell of a hike but well worth it! Good times have been had with Marshall!!!
Thanks,
