Loved Ones

Loved Ones

Hi there,

My name is Peter Gordon and I live in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia. I've been playing live since I was 17 year old in 1975 and have been happily playing live gigs ever since....

These three are my "loved ones" as they each have very different tonal character... and they sound great whatever I stick through them... Strat, JEM, Les Paul or RG570. They always add that bite and attitude which makes everything I play stand out in the crowds! (100w JCM800 combo/ 50w JCM900 MK3 combo/ 60w JCM2000 TSL602 combo) With these amps I have all gigs covered from Cafe Jazz to Hard Rocking outdoor concerts.... no FX required... just tone and drive!

Thanks to the Marshall company for such great products!!

Cheers

Peter

King of the Stage

King of the Stage

Hi

My name is Tim Flannagan

I’m the lead guitarist in the band Wet Thing. Our band entered a contest with a local rock radio station.

The contest was to open for the band Poison at the Tweeter Center in Tinle Park, IL. USA

Well the radio station picked us out as the winners but we only had 24 hr to get it to gather. I only had a four twelve Cr*te Cab with a 160 watt Cr*te head, it was ok for clubs but I just didn’t see us getting up in front of 35 thousand people with it. So I ran off to the store and got four 4x12 bottoms and 2 Marshall 100 watt heads, I FELT LIKE A KING !!!!! When we hit the stage I had all the confidence in the world that I had the best gear backing my sound.

After I hit the first cord on my guitar and heard my Marshalls and 35 thousand people scream for the first time in my life, I WAS THE KING OF THE STAGE.

Thank You,

Tim Flannagan

Jim Marshall is as close to being God as anyone can be! I'm 16, and have been playing the guitar since I was 7 years old. This is my amp I use: Two 1965A 4x10'' cabinets, and a JCM800 2210 valve head. I love this thing! Combined with my Les Paul, this thing is the business! Marshall are the only amps I will ever use, nothing else comes close.

The elephant is named Marshie, and is for a reason, by the way!

Hi!
Here's a picture of my Valvestate 2000 AVT100 combo. I wanted to make a kind of artistic picture of it. Well, you tell me, how did I succeeded in it! I think it looks cool!

Well here's my trusted JCM900 SL-X head & 1960B 4x12 cab. We have been together for some 10 years now & both are doing well. I play in a quite well known punk band called POUNDAFLESH & the gear has been on tour with me all over the world, rattling around in the back of various vans. Its been dropped, kicked, punched, ale poured over it & even attacked by Nazi skin-heads & survived! It has only had 1 replacement transformer & 1 total valve refit. The engineer who did this (he used to work for you guys) said he couldn't really find anything wrong with the amp or the valves which, as I had it done last year, speaks volumes for your design.

I get allot of other bands asking about how my solos stand out so much then I show them the dual volumes & all becomes clear.

This is the most excellent punk rock rig ever, cheers to all & every one of you.

Hello fellow Marshall fans.....My name is Bryan Tolliver from Rhode Island and I'm pictured here with my Marshalls: a 1982 JCM 800 model 2204 50 watt Master Volume Mk. 2 Lead head and matching cabinet; and, a 1986 JCM 800 model 2205 50 watt Split Channel head. Not pictured is my small Marshall Lead 12 amp, which is solid state anyway.....

I play out regularly with these babies in an original band called Doors of Perception. I run a Gibson straight into a Marshall for that true rock-and-roll guitar sound that we all love. I am so very happy. Thank you, Jim. My fellow guitarist in DOP, Bill Senior, plays a Gibson into a limited edition Marshall Zakk Wylde 100 watt half stack (try not to drool). He sounds truly wonderful as well, yet we sound so different from one another. We simply would not play anything else.

Trouser Flapping Tone

Trouser Flapping Tone

Hi,

I have long been admiring the various set up’s in the Marshall Gallery, so I thought I would send in a photo of my own set up.

I play in an electric blues band called Blind Hope, and an acoustic ensemble called Coostick, so the left hand set up is for the former, and the right is the latter.

After trying many amps in twenty five years, I bought a brand new Marshall JCM 900 2100 SLX High Gain Master Volume amplifier, and a 1960A cabinet in 1994. This is an amazing sounding amp, and, when coupled with Gloria my Gibson SG, all I can say is…….It makes the back of your trousers flap!!!!!

The acoustic set up is a beautiful Taylor called Elizabeth ;-) and a Marshall AS50R Acoustic Soloist amplifier, which gives a perfect representation of what my acoustic sounds like and more. If you play acoustic guitar in small clubs, and are fed up with a crap sound from the in-house PA, then this is for you. There is a 100 watt version of this amp as well – If you need to make trousers flap.

Keep up the good work Marshall. You make awesome amplifiers.

Regards,

Ian R Millar

My first Marshall was a 50 watt JCM800 and it sounded awsome! Stupidly, I sold it for a smaller amp. The next few years I tried alot of different amps, looking for that elusive perfect tone. Recently, I bought an MG100HDFX 100 watt head and guess what, I found my perfect tone! Marshalls Rule!!!!
