HRH Princess Anne visits Marshall HQ
POSTED 26.12.12 IN NEWS
Yesterday we welcomed our most regal visitor to date. Her Royal Highness arrived at Marshall HQ in Bletchley, Milton Keynes, to officially close our 50th anniversary.
HRH arrived just before midday, where she was introduced to the board of trustees and shown the ‘holy grail’ of tone – amp No.1. She was then whisked off round the factory and shown the intricate and painstaking craftsmanship that goes into every one of our amplifiers. She took time to stop in each department and chat comfortably with staff members on the production line, enquiring about their individual roles and length of service at the company.
Princess Anne then came through into our theatre where all the staff gathered and she was introduced to local dignitaries, as well as Olympic torch bearers and athletes. A selection of office staff were lined up and greeted her as she entered, each one answering questions she posed. HRH then got up on stage along with our MD Jonathan Ellery who thanked her for coming, before she unveiled the commemorative JVM stack which will now take pride of place in our reception.
Princess Anne then made an impromptu speech to all the staff expressing her enjoyment of the day and how impressed she was with everything we have achieved here. She made a very humbling reference to our Guv’nor, and echoed our sadness at having lost such a great leader during our Golden Jubilee.
From everyone at Marshall Amplification, we would like to thank HRH Princess Anne for visiting us yesterday. It was a great day that will be remembered by all involved for a very long time.
