Kabat Live in Prague

MARSHALL WERE REALLY EXCITED TO BE INVITED TO THE CZECH REPUBLIC'S EVENT OF THE YEAR ON SATURDAY 13TH OF SEPTEMBER.
For those of you who haven’t heard of Kabat, the chance is you have not discussed rock music with anyone from the Czech Republic. Kabat are simply the most awe inspiring home grown Czech band and the fact that the concert that the band were celebrating 25 years with their current line-up at their concert at Vypich Hill in Prague is testament to the fact they are still the number one to Czech fans.
The day before the concert we were treated to a pre show meeting with the band backstage at the venue and taking a walk around on the stage, which was rammed to the gunnels with lighting and Pyro’s in anticipation for the following nights concert.
50ft Flames?! Yes please. And as the sun went down and trucks and forklifts put into place the last of the rigging driving through the squelching mud we were treated to sound check and then the last minute Pyro test. Having being told that the Pyro tech had worked with bands such as Rammstein, we were expecting spectacular, and from the back of the stage in the brief test period for the flamethrowers we got very, very warm!
On the morning of the concert the rain of the previous 4 days had subsided and what was a fairly swampy venue had dried out quite a lot, but not enough to save the boots of those attending. First impressions at arriving at the venue were the diversity of the crowd. Babes in arms and the elderly with walking sticks mixed with everyone in between, proving the popularity of the band and its music is not just limited to the younger audience.
Everyone joined in, looking around every member of the crowd, regardless of whom they were, were singing the songs and moving to the music. All of this whilst camera drones encircled the crowd and the stage shooting video, and fireworks and flames shot out across the crowd.
In addition the entire stage roof and sides were ablaze with lighting, and every time the audience was lit up everyone cheered.
Marshall are massively grateful to have been a part of this celebration, and are so pleased that Ota and Tomáš are a part of the Marshall family.
From their roots in the small Czech town of Teplice, to the Concert on the Hill in Prague Kabat are truly the Czech Kings of Rock and Roll!
